Simple Techniques To Produce Targeted Twitter Traffic to My Hostgator Coupons

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010

There is a steady influx of new social networking sites on the internet. Twitter isn’t any different from these. Similar to all the other social media websites, it is a community where “friends” can let each other know what is going on in their lives and what they are doing. Post your immediate thoughts, announce your presence at a local event, tell the world what you think of current happening.

Many computer-savvy individuals know of Twitter as a social networking application, however, they may not be aware of Twitter as a kind of advertising media that can be used to pass along useful information to a particular target audience. As we all know, Twitter limits the tweet size to a maximum of 140 characters. So the messages you choose to send, although being very short, must still be able to create interest for your customers to open and read them. You can ensure that your tweets reach a large number of individuals by building up your network, and having many followers. The bigger your list of friends is, the more people you will have viewing your messages.

The first thing you need to do is sign up for a free Twitter account. This process is simple and does not take much time. It’s not necessary for you to even have your own website. All you need to do is pick a username and your account is ready. After you have your account is activated you’ll be able to invite other people, prospects or potential customers, to start following you. This is not a sales pitch, but just a promotion asking them to follow you. Nothing is mentioned about products or services when you are inviting others to follow you. A good way is to scour your email address book through Twitter and find your existing contacts/customers so that you can send an email to everyone explaining why and how they should start following you on Twitter. Most likely, a large number contacts won’t have to start up a Twitter account to come with you because they’re already signed up. Slowly the number of followers to your account will grow. As always, you’ll want to take care of your followers and treat them like gold. So how do you go about doing this? You can offer them special deals on a regular basis and provide them with useful information. For instance, a nice idea is to have “Twitter Only” promotional activities that give discounts to your followers. Theses discounts would be limited to those individuals who follow you. This way you will start to have people referring others to follow you and get their friends and family into your list just to take advantage of your offer.

The first thing is to get a Twitter account. It’s a necessity in driving traffic. Getting a Twitter account is completely free, and your contact list can be scanned to see if you already have people you know using twitter. Once you have an account, you customize it. Upload a photo of whatever you want, it could be you, a logo, anything. Be sure you link to the website you are trying to generate traffic for on your profile. Unlike Facebook or MySpace, Twitter only allows you the ability to upload photos on your profile, and to micro-blog, there is no storage for files or photos - save that for your site. However, you do have an opportunity to add your favorite pictures to share them with your friends using Twitter updates, either the regular way or mobile uploads. When you have set up your account with Twitter, you can start following people. Following people on Twitter means that you will be able to see all of their updates on your main page when they write them. If one of the people you are following tweets, you can see it on your profile page righ then. To follow a person, all you have to do is click on the button that says follow located below the picture on their profile page. This is a good tactic to drive traffic, because you will notice that the more people you follow, the more they will return the favor back to you by following you.

To make things a little more automated, you can take advantage of sites like Twitterfeed to connect your RSS feed to your Twitter account. This simply means that every time you update your RSS feed, it connects to your Twitter account and automatically posts there. This is quite a helpful way of making sure that whenever you update your site, anyone following you will receive that information. Don’t bombard people though, you wouldn’t want to be the latest spammer everyone hates. Be sure to supply plenty of your own commentary between automated updates. Marketers who want to have access to targeted traffic that can convert to sales have found that Twitter can really be a boon to their business. Thi method takes time and effort, but the more time you expend the better your results. With this in mind, take the time to be consistent and update your account on a regular basis. It will not take too long before you start to build a gathering and start seeing traffic to your site.

Keeping in touch with your followers is also essential in your ability to generate more traffic on Twitter. But, there are other ways to direct targeted traffic to your blog or webpage. The best part about Twitter is that you can tweet your updates and include a link in the update that leads people directly to what you are talking about on your site. It is easy to post an update that contains a link to the product website of any new product that you would like to promote. Over time, you will be able to design new strategies for promoting your business or blog and find more creative ways to introduce links into your tweets on Twitter, which will help draw more visitors to your site. Twitter is a relatively new social networking site, but it is a powerful tool. There is no limit to what you can do with Twitter. All that is necessary to see results with no delay is to combine a working sales plan with level headed thinking.

How to Get a Huge Following on Twitter

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

Twitter has evolved from a way to tell people what you had for breakfast into a powerful marketing tool. If that is something that interests you, the first thing you’ll want to do is amass a huge list of followers. These steps will show you how.

1. Start by creating a great bio. You only have 160 characters to do this, unlike the 140 limit in tweets, so think carefully about how you will write your bio. Make sure it includes your website address.

2. If you’re just getting started on Twitter, create about 10 interesting, relevant tweets. Give people a reason to follow you.

3. Links to interesting websites, articles and videos make great tweets. Because the URLs will be too long for Twitter, you’ll need to create a short version. You can do this at tinyurl.com. Copy the long link and paste it into the appropriate window there and it will generate a short link that is suitable for Twitter.

4. Humorous and inspiring quotes make great tweets and are among the most popular. Lots of sites post great quotes for you to use. Find them with a Google search.

5. Search YouTube for videos that relate to your topic or area of expertise, then tweet about them.

6. Help others by re-tweeting their tweets. Many will return the favor, which will expose you to other people who may then decide to follow you.

7. Join the conversation. Reply to other people’s tweets, give them a compliment or thank them for sharing. These people may also decide to send you @ messages, which will also make their followers aware of you.

8. When people re-tweet you, be sure to thank them. It shows good manners and it increases the chances that they will do it again.

9. Participate in Follow Fridays by recommending others on Twitter to your followers. In turn, many of the people your recommend will then recommend you, which can grow your list of followers.

10. Follow all of Twitter’s rules about following and un-following. Don’t become too aggressive or your account will be suspended.

11. Try to limit the number of marketing tweets you post. You should do about 10 regular tweets for every marketing one.

Social Media Marketing Is Changing Business

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

Social media is changing daily the way businesses interact with customers. With the development of social media, companies are interacting with current and potential customers on a more personal level. This personal level of interaction through the use of blogs, networking sites, applications and online publishing to name a few brings marketing to a new level. Prior to the development of social media a business was left with one-way communication with its prospects. This one way communication was unable to develop “personal” relationships with customers. This personal relationship allows companies to gauge their performance within specific campaign techniques. Social media may be one of the biggest changes in business communication since the introduction of mass media. Social media continues to change and requires one to stay abreast of new developments. In Feb 2005 social media use was represented by only 5% of adult internet users. In April of 2009 that number had grown to 46% of adult internet users. Your company could be interacting and gaining personal relationships with 46% of adult users today! While social media is not perceived as a business requirement by some, I feel the numbers speak for themselves.

Social media was created to build communities and bring people with common interests and goals together are a virtual community. These platforms were designed to allow individual users to interact on a personal level and communicate directly with others. These networking sites create a perfect opportunity for a business to reach highly targeted consumers and build much deeper relationships in a fraction of the time required prior to social media. Social media marketing could be defined as a combination of efforts utilizing social media outlets to reach a targeted audience. There are several methods to getting your campaign started. A Facebook fan page is a great start but without proper implementation and management it will be perceived as unsuccessful by you. Social media changes daily, if not hourly, as new methods and tools are developed. It is imperative that your business stay abreast of current developments to achieve success.

We have defined social media and I am sure some are interested in exactly what it is. Well, an example would be Twitter. Twitter is one of the better known. It allows a company to build a group of dedicated followers interested in what they have to say. The key point is “interested in what they have to say”. These core loyal consumers have agreed to become part of YOUR network and are waiting to hear what you have to say. Think of the possibilities. You advertise a sale or coupon to a HIGHLY targeted audience. Do you think the results would be better than sending 20,000 postcards to homes? Twitter may not be right for some businesses though. It is only a tool in the social media marketing campaign. A word of caution, be wary of those building your Twitter follower list without targeting audiences. If the audience isn’t willing to listen to what you have to say, then they aren’t targeted! Another popular example would be Facebook. Within Facebook, a company can create fan pages and groups bringing their customers together. Within these groups customers could share their experiences. Now these experiences could also be moderated by someone within your company, which brings in Internet Reputation Management (a definite requirement when developing a social media campaign). These Facebook pages are similar in creating a following, but allow the customers to be engaged on a more personal level. These are only two examples of Social Media. A successful campaign will also utilize blogs, articles, press releases, applications and numerous other networking sites.

Social media can be a bit overwhelming for the new business entering into the internet world. A company will quickly learn that they can’t be everyone’s answer. Customer involved interactions will assist the company in further targeting their social media marketing campaign. From polls to surveys, a business can further determine the consumer that is the best fit for their company. The information received from these polls and surveys is then utilized to better refine a social media marketing campaign.

I know, social media seems a bit overwhelming. You have a business to run and don’t have time to create and manage a targeted marketing campaign. But with the ever-changing world of internet, can you afford not to? There are several internet marketing companies that bring together highly qualified and experienced social media experts. These companies usually provide a free consultation and can develop, implement and manage your entire social media marketing campaign. Think of it as outsourcing your entire internet marketing division. You get expert knowledge, advice and professionalism at a fraction of the cost of hiring at least 2 more personnel.

How To Use Twitter As A Marketing Tool

Friday, January 15th, 2010

Twitter is hot. In 2009 they received more then 20 million new visitors to their website. You can use Twitter for several purposes in your company, internal and external. It is an ideal tool for connecting with your customers all around the world and learn about the things they like or dislike about you.

You will find in this article several issues that are important to know when you are getting started using Twitter in your company; either to speed up communication, or to improve relationships. When you just use it to boost your sales, this seldom works. I will explain later why.

Help first and the sale will follow later. Primarily people are interested what you have to say and not what you have on offer. Let them experience that you really want to help, this will get noticed and you will be then recommended to others. People know people, this is a simple fact. If you are pushy to talk about your product or service, people will stop following you and stop giving you as a referral to others. You possess the knowledge to help consumers in your niche. Especially when they are badly treated by a competitor. Treat them well and with respect and you will end up with much more loyal customers. It should be your goal to create a network of people who enjoy helping each other.

The relationship goes first. People buy from people they like, know and trust. Join a topic group and learn more about what your customers really want. They will share their problems and you may able to offer a product that is the solution they want. You can use Twitter Search to find users of your product or those from your competitors. Over time you can build the identity of being knowledgeable and approachable. This helps you to secure you a bigger spot in the marketplace.

Share your knowledge as an expert. Announce free workshops, seminars or of course webinars. Inform your followers about how they can join, when it will take place and any other requirements and join in by tweeting about it. Or send them a link to your presentations and video’s so they watch when they like. In these presentations you can deal with problems that customer service regularly has to deal with or share tips about the usage of your product. Share efficiently and broadcast links and headlines that can drive traffic to your website.

Let also your own people know. Use Twitter to save time and money by limiting the number of emails and phone calls. Everyone will be disciplined by the rules of Twitter. Long stories are history now. And colleagues can learn what you exactly do in the company.

Promotion and marketing. After some time it is possible to start tweeting about special deals, discounts, samples or package deals. People will not get annoyed when you do this on a limited basis and after you have established a relationship with them.

Brand loyalty. Twitter is an excellent tool to stay in direct contact with your audience. A part of your followers are potential customers. This enables you to familiarize them with everything the company could do for them. Also you can retrieve interesting information about the latest developments in your marketplace. When you can act fast it may enable you get ahead of the competition.

Answering to customer complaints. When you have the guts to deal with customer complaints in the open, the followers can learn how sincere you really are about keeping the customer delighted. You can respond immediately when you receive a complaining tweet and tell everybody what you are going to do about it. Later the disgruntled customer can confirm that you really took the promised action(s) and that he or she is very happy about it. By operating in this manner you build a loyal customer base.

Follow your competitors. By reading the tweets of your competitors you know what happens at their workplace and if you like, you can keep in touch with them. You get earlier informed about new projects, products, marketing plans and latest mistakes. By learning more about their mistakes you can help yourself to not make them too.

Twitter is a great tool to interact with others. Be original, fresh and interesting and soon you will have many followers. They are primarily interested in you, but will not make a fuss when you later on introduce your company. Twitter enables you to turn your conversations into profit.

Some Tips On Building Your Brand Through Social Media

Thursday, December 24th, 2009

Anyone who has created a website and looked into ways of getting more traffic to it has heard about building your brand through social media. There seems to be some confusion, though, about what “social media” is. Sometimes it takes quite a bit of research before we find out the truth.

As the name implies, it is all internet media designed for social interaction. The advice you have probably been given by the “gurus” included the article directories and almost always has come with a whiz bang automated submissions tool attached to the free advice.

There is nothing inherently bad about what they’re selling. You can’t possibly hit all the directories without some automated help. It can become confusing, though, trying to decide who sells the best product. Don’t worry about that, find a free one and use that first.

Blogs cannot be created using any existing automated program. They have to be done manually. That’s why they don’t get a lot of press - there’s nothing to be sold. Don’t make the mistake of overlooking blogging just because it makes you work a little. There are some ways to speed it up, but you will still have to do much of the work yourself.

If you look around, you will find a great little form filling program. You just type in your username, password and all the other information you need for creating a blog. You can use the same info for every blog, so you only do it once, then its automated except for the captcha.

Take some of the articles you intend to submit to article directories and put them all in all of your blogs. You don’t have to write original articles for each blog. You may have to customize your articles a little for some of the spam sensitive sites like Blogger, but otherwise, it’s just a matter of copy and paste.

There is no need to pay money for your software, at least not at first and not until you know what you’re doing. There is always a need to put some work into building your brand through social media, though. There’s really no way around that.

Grow Your Twitter Followers With Some Very Simple Techniques

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

There are not to many things that can expose dreadful writing online except for when it comes to having to type information or your thoughts using a very limited amount of characters and be effective at it. With its–0 character threshold on all tweets (or “tweets” as they are referred to) Twitter often shows this all too well. From abbreviation-laden tweets that create no sense, to tweets that neglect to persuade followers to click through on a link, examples are everywhere in the Twitter “discussion”.

Whether at work or at home, we have all been on the receiving end of emails containing sloppy sentence structure, inadequate spelling, fractured syntax, and which are over and over again a chore to make sense of. Twitter posts are no different (despite the fact that they are at least mercifully condensed though that can sometimes be a mixed blessing too).

Some webmasters follow thousands of other webmasters on Twitter, filling their web sites with, (in various extreme cases), hundreds of tweets every minute. Clearly, individuals will pass over over tweets that are sloppy, trivial and all over the place because they simply don’t have time to waste.

Similar to all types of writing, the process of creating a high-quality Twitter post takes particular attention, time and scrutiny. Whereas there is no such thing as a “flawless” tweet, (since such judgments are very individual and dependent upon the intended audience) there are some straightforward procedure that everyone can follow.

Firstly, stay away from abbreviations if at all possible, and only employ them when absolutely essential. For one thing there are so many abbreviations you in reality can’t always presume individuals will be acquainted with what they are. Long-time serious Twitter users are possibly the worst offenders in this regard. This is in part owing to the reality that the bulk of these people still tend to be from a technical background.

However, as its user base becomes more and more diversified which has been the situation of late, a lot of these webmasters may well not be up on all the Twitter-specific slang. Relying on this manner of writing and you extend the risk of in outcome blocking off a considerable segment of the group of people from appreciating completely (or at all) what you have to voice.

Secondly and as important, endeavor to take your time. The purpose for this is that Twitter permits you to publish your tweet instantly, the open field to tweet a message sits in your web-browser or in an application on your desktop looking like what a chunk of cheese must look like to a mouse. With only–0 characters allowed it might seem natural to some to just tweet way devoid of giving it much inspiration.

Then again, much like you’d proofread an significant e-mail communication before hitting “send” to every person in the company, you should also consider pausing before you distribute a tweet with the world. And shared it will be. Don’t simply presume that only your direct followers will spot your tweets, as a tweet can be picked up publicly by Google or Twitter’s search tool. On the other hand, if you take some more time you will most likely put extra consideration into it, which in turn makes it more likely to be appreciated.

Owing to the exceptional briefness of tweets, a rushed writing job combined with lack of perspective can create a lot of misunderstandings. If you take the time to not only construct the tweet, but also think about how your target market will accept it, you can prevent yourself a lot of worries and wasted time.

Twitter Marketing Strategies, 5 Ways to Explode Your Business With Twitter

Wednesday, August 26th, 2009

We all know twitter is quickly becoming a very popular tool for people to stay connected with each other. Twitter is also highly effective in driving traffic to your website if you go about it in the right way. The challenge is that posts on Twitter called “tweets” are short limited to 140 charactares and must be to the point.

Here are five strategies that you can use in your twitter marketing that will grow your business.

* Keep it Real. There’s good reason why this term is so popular today and that’s because it’s so true. People connect with each on twitter to interact and no one wants to interact with an internet marketer trying to pitch every Tom, Dick and Harry product that comes down the pipe. Share your dreams, frustrations and in general be a real person and twitters will love you for it.

* Be Controversial. There’s a reason why so many celebreties and music stars get attention, it’s because they understand the value of getting attention. Being controversial attracks attention, so be opinionated in your “tweets” and people will both love you and hate you for it, but in the end you’ll gain more followers.

* Tweet about Nothing. Remember that TV show about nothing? Well it became quite popular didn’t it? Not everyone goes to visits twitter to do business, so have some fun sometimes and tweet about anything. Just make it interesting so that people will take notice.

* Yoda for your thoughts. Everyone loves positive thinking quotes and people go nuts over these kinds of “tweets”. In the end you just might spark some attention or make someone’s day because of a quote or two you posted.

* Be Cool Man. Again, you have to realize that no one come to twitter to be sold something so remember this when it comes to your twitter marketing approach. Most people come to twitter to post about a funny video they saw on Youtube, or to comment about the news and just plain hang out. So why not give them what they want. Surf around find something worth posting about and then “tweet” about it.

The whole idea behind this article on twitter marketing is to teach you that to be a successful marketer using twitter or any other social marketing site, you need to forget about what it is your selling, and be a real a person. Socialize, have fun and interact with others. In the end you gain all the traffic you want to your website not because of what you tried to “pitch” but because of who you are.

How I Discovered The True Value of Twitter

Saturday, August 22nd, 2009

For a long time I’ve been avoiding the Twitter phenomenon. That is, until recently. A fellow associate of mine encouraged me to join and even explored some of the reasons why I hadn’t done so. I simply told him that I didn’t understand the need to Tweet and the real purpose of using Twitter. With some reluctance, I signed up for an account.

After learning how to use Twitter by opening an account, and then adopting the use of tools that would allow me to make more out of my Twitter experience, I’m finding a number of different aspects valuable to my everyday activities, hobbies, and social relationships.

After having some time getting used to Twitter and what it can do for me, I quickly learned the benefit of a far reaching social media tool. Having interest in tasks related to my job, hobbies, and other activities, I found large numbers of Twitter users who share the same interests. This is great for identifying a support group of other users who can share ideas and from whom you can learn a thing or two. The other thing that’s so amazing is that you can get access to celebrities that are using the tool as well. They write about their lives and even share a personal anecdote from time to time. Twitter gives you a direct line to many people you thought weren’t within reach. This really does a lot to bring us closer to one another.

Twitter is absolutely fantastic for discovering others who are learning about an area of interest you might have. These individuals often share really good ideas that can help you succeed. This save tons of both your time and energy. In addition to finding others with similar interests, these people also find you. These followers have become a great resource for me as I have questions or want to get a quick pulse on what others are thinking.

Twitter allows you to easily filter your network of followers and those you follow. In addition, you can filter the information you receive from others. The good news is that you can respond to individual posts or chose to do nothing. The communication path is in your control. Another great thing about posts from others is that they usually contain links to helpful information on the web. You can follow these links or ignore them. Either way you have access to information you may otherwise never have found.

I was not an early adopter of social media and for good cause. I never saw the point of Tweeting or trying to build a fan base. However, now that I’ve gotten my feet wet and have a good deal more experience with Twitter, I see that it’s not only good for getting information but giving it as well. If you are trying to determine the value of Twitter from the outside then I encourage you to role up your sleeves and give it a try. Unfortunately you can’t appreciate it unless you do.
